Spend a serendipitous and colorful hour with author-publisher Brett Harriman at one of the below-listed events. He will discuss the simplicity of traveling to Germany & Austria as well as present a digital slideshow (travelogue) on the popular and scenic tourist destinations of both European countries. Destinations include Munich, Dresden, Berlin, Frankfurt, Mercedes and Porsche factories in Stuttgart, Black Forest, Romantic Road, Vienna, Salzburg, and locations made famous in the movie classic, “The Sound of Music.” After the presentation, Harriman will sign copies of his book.

February 9-10 (Sat-Sun, 10am thru 4pm): On this weekend you can find Harriman in Long Beach, California, at the L.A. Times Travel and Adventure Show held in the convention center (within shouting distance of the Queen Mary). This is the largest travel show of its kind in the west. Look for Harriman's booth (#1529) in the Europe section. Click the banner (right) for your free entry ticket (promo code is EXHFREE), otherwise tickets at the door are $10-15. After the show you’re invited to attend Harriman’s Discover the Wonders of Germany & Austria travelogue across the street at Borders bookstore (see next entry).

February 9-10 (Sat-Sun, 5:30-6:30pm): Harriman will be the guest speaker at Borders bookstore (101 S. Pine Ave, Long Beach, California. Tel.# 562-491-0558) across the street from the Long Beach Convention Center. Free admission.

March 5 (Wed, 2-3pm): Harriman will be the guest speaker at the Palm Desert Public Library (73-300 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California. Tel.# 760-346-6552). Free admission.

From mid-September thru February 2009 Harriman will sideline his guided-tour program and take a reprieve from the speaking circuit to hit the road in Europe to sleuth out the latest updates for his popular guidebook to Germany & Austria (2009 ed). Happy holidays and travels to all!
